The M100PFEVP supports a quick start-up of FPGA projects and can easily be used as a fast-prototype platform.
M100PF offers the full flexibility of the PolarFire FPGA family. PolarFire cost-optimized FPGAs deliver the lowest power at mid-range densities with 12.7 Gbps SerDes transceivers as well as best-in-class security and reliability. They offer unprecedented capabilities and value with 10G transceivers, advanced I/Os, security and DSP capabilities while maintaining all the advantages traditionally associated with non-volatile FPGAs such as static power, security and single event upset (SEU) immunity. The devices are ideal for a wide range of applications within wireline access networks and cellular infrastructure, defense and commercial aviation markets, as well as industrial automation and IoT Markets.

M100PF - SoM featuring Microsemi PolarFire FPGALow Power Mid-Range FPGA for Industrial Application
The M100PF SoM family spans from 100K logic elements (LEs) to 300K LEs, features 12.7G transceivers and offers up to 50% lower power than competing mid-range FPGAs. The devices are ideal for a wide range of applications within wireline access networks and cellular infrastructure, defense and commercial aviation markets, as well as industrial automation and IoT markets.PolarFire FPGAs offer various device features such as design security, low power devices and data security. All PolarFire FPGAs are integrated with multi-protocol industry-leading low-power transceivers. The M100PF combines most FPGA features on a 74mmx42mm footprint, the board-to-board interconnect is implemented by using two high-quality connectors which expose 360pins. The SoM is available in both the commercial temperature range 0°C...+70°C as well as in the industrial temperature range -40°C....+85°C.

The M100PFS is based on the PolarFire SoC FPGA architecture by Microchip and combines high-performance 64-bit RISC-V cores with outstanding FPGA technology. The platform integrates a hardened real-time, Linux capable, RISC-V-based MPU subsystem on the mid-range PolarFire FPGA family, bringing low power consumption, thermal efficiency and defence grade security to embedded systems.
The RISC-V CPU micro-architecture implementation is a simple 5 stage, single issue, in-order pipeline that doesn’t suffer from the Meltdown and Spectre exploits found in common out-of-order machines. All five CPU cores are coherent with the memory subsystem allowing a versatile mix of deterministic real time systems and Linux in a single multi-core CPU cluster.
